Our priority isn't only treating your pet when he is ill, rather, we want to keep your pet healthy for life!  Regular veterinary check-ups are an important part of keeping your pet healthy. Physical examinations can help veterinarians detect and treat problems early before they become potentially life threatening. For this reason, we recommend annual physical examinations and bi-annual examinations for senior pets.

        Our doctor will examine your pet from nose to tail.  She will examine the teeth and gingival health and color.  She will look at the eyes, examining the conjunctiva and tear draining system.  She will examine the ears for inflammation or discharge.  She will look at the skin, examining if there is any redness, irritation, parasites, sores or lumps or bumps.  She will palpate the abdomen and the organs that are within the abdomen.  She will look at your pet's private areas, examining for any discharges or irritations, lumps or bumps.  She will palpate the joints, to see if there is any stiffness or muscle atrophy.  She will also listen carefully to the heart and lungs, to detect any changes there.  

        The doctor not only will do this thorough examination, but also, along with our entire staff, will discuss other health issues with you regarding your pet.  We will ask about your pet's nutrition and discuss weight management.  We will ask about and be happy to discuss any behavior concerns you might have about your pet.  We will discuss heartworm disease and preventives and also flea management and grooming your pet.  Please bring any questions or concerns that you may have regarding your pet-we are happy to help!
